Outline:
The “Rock-a-Thon” is a fund raiser for the “Team in Training” program of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It will take place on March 28th 2009 at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant on Ulmerton Road near Roosevelt Road. The event will consist of volunteers rocking in rocking chairs for one of two 4 hours shifts. Each participate will bring in pledges for their involvement.
Donations:
1) Donations will be collected by participants prior to the event and turned in on the day it takes place. Each participant will be encouraged to collect a minimum of $100.00 but all will be welcome regardless of donation level.
2) A small donation station will be set up during the event to collect donations for those at the restaurant who wish to contribute.
Location:
The event will take place on the front patio of the Cracker Barrel Restaurant. The restaurant manager, Dean, is excited to assist with the event and he has gotten corporate clearance for it to be hosted there. All the chairs to be used are in place and at the restaurant.
Participation Benefits:
Each participant will receive a certificate of participation. All volunteers who raise over $100.00 dollars in pledges will receive an event t-shirt.
Refreshments:
As the shifts are only four hours no arrangements will be made for food, but a cooler of water and soft drinks will be kept at the registration table.
Shifts:
We are hoping to have two four hours shifts of up to 25 participates. The first shift will begin rocking at 0800 and stay till noon. The next shift will come in at noon and rock till 4:00.
